Imogene "Jean" M. Fletcher

Imogene “Jean” M. Fletcher (Mauton), 101, of Cuyahoga Falls, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2022 attended by family.  She was born in Hillsboro, IL on June 4, 1920, the eldest child of Fred and Louise (Huber) Mauton.  In 1940, she relocated to Akron, OH, staying with relatives in order to attend the Akron City Hospital School of Nursing – graduating as a Registered Nurse.  In 1941, she married Vaughn Fletcher; eventually beginning a nursing career with the State of Ohio and moving to Cuyahoga Falls.

Jean enjoyed reading mystery fiction, watching Cleveland Indians baseball, travel, live theater and playing Contract Bridge.  She would frequently travel with friends to regional bridge tournaments and Tribe road games.

Preceded in death by her husband, Vaughn in 1972; infant sons, William in 1949, James in 1950 and Robert in 1957.

Jean is survived by daughter, Judi Peterhansen of Kent, OH, and son, Marc Fletcher of Maple Heights, OH.

Calling hours 8:30-9:30a.m. Wednesday at Ciriello and Carr Funeral Home, 810 Portage Tr in Cuyahoga Falls, followed by a 10a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment at Oakwood Cemetery.
