Grace Marie Usberghi (nee Desimone), 92, peacefully passed away Saturday, December 19, 2020 at her daughter’s home in Florida. She was born on June 17, 1928 to the late Casimiro and Maria Desimone. She grew up in Akron and graduated from Garfield High School. She married the late Eugene Usberghi, Sr. in 1949. He was the love of her life and her husband for 65 years. She dearly missed him since his passing in 2014 from Alzheimer’s. They lived in Akron most of their lives until moving to Florida in 2012.
Grace was a loving wife, mother, aunt, sister, friend, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She selflessly put her family first. She was so proud of the home she and her husband built together. Over the years, Grace and Eugene’s home was always open to family and friends, hosting so many wonderful holiday parties, social gatherings, as well as loving family dinners. Grace was also very proud of her Italian heritage, and shared it through her fantastic cooking and baking. Everyone loved her homemade sauce, bread, pizza, pizzelles, and biscotti. Grace was beautiful inside and out, and took pride in her appearance, with her weekly beauty shop appointments, her make-up, perfume and nails done. Her mind was sharp as a tack and she still enjoyed completing crossword puzzles daily. Her welcoming smile, warm hugs, caring heart, endless generosity, and great sense of humor will never be forgotten. Grace was an inspiration to all and leaves behind beautiful memories to cherish. She will be dearly missed.
In addition to her parents and husband, Grace was preceded in death by her sister Lucy Usberghi, brother John Desimone Sr.,and brother Freddie Desimone. Grace is survived by her four children; Eugene, Jr. (Maria) Usberghi; Dennis (Shannon) Usberghi; Linda (Scott) Fultz, all of the Fort Myers area; Gina (Greg) Klebs, of the Akron area; as well as 15 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
The family wishes to give special thanks to Britto KP, for all the love and support he gave Grace and her husband over the past several years.
