Geraldine (Gerry) M. Clifford, age 90, passed away peacefully Friday evening January 24, 2025, at Summa Hospital in Akron after a short illness.
She was born July 6, 1934, to the late Clara and Thomas Martini in Akron Ohio, where she remained and lived her entire life. She graduated from North High School and went on to work 14 years as the Executive Administrative Assistant to the Vice President of BF Goodrich International Operations before dedicating herself to raising her two sons, David and Daniel.
Gerry will be remembered as being an outstanding home chef and a lover of classic movies. She remained active well into her 80s, regularly participating in jazzercise and aerobics. She also had a deep love of musicals and live theater, the music of Frank Sinatra, tailgating to support the Ohio State Buckeyes, and had the fortune to travel to many areas of the world with her husband and sons.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Vivian (Mike) Kuzmik, and her brother, Joseph (Cathy) Martini.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Jack Clifford; her sister, Madelyn (Bill) Ferguson; her sons, David (Brei) Clifford and Daniel (Wray Jean) Clifford; her grandchildren, Claudia, Cassidy (Que), Cameron, Lucas and Delaney; and her great-grandchildren, Dylann and Diana. She also leaves behind, many nieces and nephews with special gratitude to Jeff (Julie) Ferguson; Lori (Shawn) Sullivan, and Scott (Susan) Ferguson, whose support was especially meaningful in her final years.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the many healthcare workers, friends and loved ones who supported Gerry and her family, especially in recent years as health challenges arose. Your kindness and care meant the world to us – you know who you are.
Visitation will be held on Thursday February 6, from 4-7 pm at Ciriello and Carr Funeral Home, 39 S. Miller Rd. Fairlawn, OH.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday February 7, at 11am at Guardian Angels Catholic Church, 1686 S Cleveland Massillon Rd, Copley, OH, with entombment immediately following at Rose Hill Burial Park, 3653 W Market St, Akron, OH.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Guardian Angles Catholic Church.
