Georgianne Rook, born in Barberton, OH on June 10, 1934, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2020.
Georgianne had a long career as a legal secretary, working for several law firms and as the court secretary for Summit County judges. Georgianne loved music and played the piano as a young girl and as a teenager and played the organ for her church. She attended Barberton High School and Ohio University. She loved to travel and especially enjoyed her trips to Alaska and Scotland in her retirement. She also enjoyed her garden and spent many days there when the weather was good. She was an avid sports fan, playing basketball as a teenager and was one of only a rare group of people who saw the local sports teams, the Browns, Indians, and the Cavaliers all win national championships
Georgianne was a devoted mother to six children, Deborah McGrath, Kurt Brown (deceased), Heather Perschel, Andrew Rook, George Rook, and James Rook; and grandmother to eight children, George Wise, Margo Wise, Megan Rook, Shawn Rook, Matthew Perschel, Ashley Brown (deceased), Erin Perschel, and Jules Rook; and a great-grandmother to Shelby Kimbrough and Eva Vaudreuil.
She will be remembered for her love of family, her kindness to others and those less fortunate, her silent laugh, her witty sense of humor, and her baking skills (especially fruitcake).
Georgianne was preceded in death by her parents, George and Mabel, brothers Thomas and James, her son, Kurt, her granddaughter, Ashley, and her beloved dog, Lucky.
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 pm on Sunday, February 23, 2020 at Ciriello and Carr Funeral Home, located at 810 Portage Trail, Cuyahoga Falls, OH. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 on Monday, February 24, 2020 at Ciriello & Carr Funeral Home, followed by internment at Lakewood Cemetery.
