Franklin Roy Smith, 86, of Akron, Ohio peacefully entered into eternal life on January 8, 2024 after a brief illness.

Frank was a devoted Christian, husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He was a dedicated family man and spent many years caring for his wife, Ruth. After her passing, he enjoyed time with family and friends, reading his Bible, and developing new hobbies.

Franklin was born and raised in Virginia and was the oldest son of Roy and Alberta Smith, who preceded him in death, along with siblings, Larry and Annabelle.

He is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Matthew Fresh; and grandson, David and his fiancé, Stephanie Kahn. Franklin is also survived by his brothers, Jimmy (Sandi), and Donnie, and his sister Sue Wilson; along with many nieces, nephews, and other family members.

We appreciate all the time, care, and support that the staff at Summa Hospice and Brookdale Bath provided to him. May God bless you all.

Calling hours will be at Ciriello & Carr Funeral Home, 39 S. Miller Rd., Fairlawn, Ohio from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, January 11, 2024. A prayer service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, January 12, 2024 at 9 a.m. Interment will immediately follow at the Western Reserve National Cemetery, Seville, Ohio.
