Florence M. Dziewisz
Florence M. Dziewisz, age 98, passed away on Monday, February 6, 2023. She was born in Niagara Falls, New York, on December 5, 1924, and lived in Fairlawn, Ohio for the last 42 years.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan Bartlebaugh (James); daughter-in-law, Gloria; sons, Michael (Terry), Leslie, Lawrence, and John (Diane); grandchildren, Joseph (Misty), Daniel (Amber), Jillian (Casey), Jonathon (Mary Brugh), Meghan (Kyle), Kerri (Brad), Kevin, Allison and Julia, and great-grandchildren Noah, Dylan, Owen, Beckett, and Emerson. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 70 years, Joe and their son, Robert.
Flo proudly worked as a Nurses Aid during WWII. When Joe returned from the war, she worked as a secretary while he finished college until their first child was born, at which time she began her most important job as a mother, and then grandmother. Even as a mother of six, she always found time to volunteer, as a swim teacher for the disabled, Girl Scout Leader, and delivering Meals on Wheels to name a few.
Flo loved her family and had a special place in her heart for her grandkids, being a regular through the years at their activities and sporting events. She was an avid bowler and golfer, loved a sparkling conversation, was always up for a casino trip, and was a fierce competitor in many bridge clubs. She enjoyed traveling all over the world, but especially loved her annual trips to San Juan, PR with Joe, and regular Carolina beach trips with the entire family. Flo will be missed by all for her charm, dignity, wit, spunkiness, and unending love.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Linda McNulty and Debbie Krajcik for their loving care and kindness during the last weeks of Flo’s life.
