Emma M Palumbo

Emma Palumbo, 91, passed away peacefully in her home on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. 

She was a life-long Akron resident who graduated from St. Mary’s High School and has been a parishioner of St. Hilary Parish for decades. She married the love of her life Phil Palumbo in July 1956. 

Emma will be remembered by her independence and spunk. Emma could play cards and Mahjong all night and loved watching old classic movies. She strived to never miss an opportunity to spend time with family. 

She is preceded in death by her husband, parents Marco and Annie Rasicci, and siblings Mark Rasicci and Marianne Kaiser. She is survived by children Tina Palumbo, Phil Palumbo Jr., Teri (Joe) Ziccardi, Toni (George) Wischt; 6 grandchildren Juliana (Jon) Ricci, Vince Ziccardi, Maria (Mike) Pfahl, Joe Ziccardi, George Wischt, and Regina Ziccardi; one great-grandchild Jack Pfahl; sister-in-law Dorothy Rasicci; and many nieces and nephews. 

A funeral mass will be held at St. Hilary Parish 2750 West Market Street Fairlawn, Ohio 44333 at 11:00 AM Thursday, August 22, 2024, where loved ones may call one hour before the service. Luncheon and burial will immediately follow the mass.
