Ellen J. Davis (79) passed away December 25, 2022.
Ellen was born and raised in Akron. She graduated from St. Vincent High School. She retired from Akron Children Hospital in 2010. Ellen always wanted to be a police officer. She loved riding shotgun in the police cruiser with one of her kids. She would go so far as to roll down the window and yell “I ain’t going quietly!” Yes we let her play with the sirens.
Ellen loved to sew, embroider, and quilt blanket for everyone. In the summer she loved to show off her beautiful flowers. And at Christmas would light the neighborhood with her many lights.
Here children were her pride and joy until the grandchildren came. She loved them more than life and tried to make each one feel special.
Anyone who knew Mr and Mrs D knew their house was always open and if you were in the neighborhood you were expected to stop by and hangout on the front porch or backyard swing.
Ellen is preceded in death by her husband, Bobbie; her parents, Bernard and Helen Forbes (Easter her stepmom), and her brother-in-law, Bud Riley.
She is survived by her children, Beth (Terry) Sands, Ted (Chrissy) Davis, Shannon (her favorite) Davis, Brian Davis and stepson Daniel Davis; her grandchildren, Nolan, Garrett, Kammie, Grady, Brennan, Max, Ellie, Kate, DJ, Jake and Mitchell, her sister Maryann Riley; great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and finally her Golden Girls Marilynn and Bonnie.
Calling hours will be held Thursday December 29 from 4-7pm at Ciriello Carr Funeral Home, 810 Portage Trail, Cuyahoga Falls. The funeral service will held on Friday December 30 at 10:00am at the funeral home with interment to follow immediately after at Holy Cross Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Special Olympics Ohio.
