Elizabeth Mary (Weiss) Zarle

Elizabeth Mary (Weiss) Zarle, 87, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2022.

She was born in Akron, Ohio and resided in the Akron area her entire life. A graduate of Garfield High School, she was employed by Firestone and a lifelong active member of Zion Lutheran Church in Akron OH which she also served as church secretary. She was dedicated to her family and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking family meals, baking Christmas cookies with her grandchildren, sewing, quilting and researching her family history on Ancestry.
 

She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents, Theobold and Kathrine (Miller) Weiss, husband Donald J. Zarle, brothers Theobold (Ted) and Henry and sisters, Katherine Irene, Shirley and Barbara. Liz is survived by her brother John Weiss of Akron, her children, Donald B. (Lili) Zarle of Akron, Brenda K. (Robert) Cumpston of Stow, Michael J. (Diane) Zarle of Stow, and Ronald J. (Sharon) Zarle of Cuyahoga Falls; her grandchildren, Heather (Aric) Ninni, Cortney (Brian) Martinelli, Robert Cumpston III, Donald J. (Mykala) Zarle II, Nicole (Robin) Usner , Christopher Zarle, Ashley (Philip) Powell, Gretchen (Spencer) Lightfoot, Michael J. Zarle II, Stevie Zarle, and Natalia Zarle, her great-grandchildren, Ashton, Peyton, Zachary, Katie, Robert IV, Giovanni, Deamon, Amelia, Lorelei and Wyatt.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, June 9th 2022 from 10:30 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, 139 South High Street, Akron, 44308. The funeral service will immediately follow at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Keith Johnson presiding. The service will be livestreamed at ziononthehill.org. She will be laid to rest following the ceremony at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
