Elizabeth (Betty) Drews, née Schweikert, was called home on Wednesday December, 17th 2025. Betty was born on December 20, 1930. She was a graduate of Old South High School and was married to her sweetheart Jack Drews in 1950. Betty kept busy lovingly raising their 4 amazing children. She also worked diligently as a Financial Secretary at Zion Lutheran Church and First Congregational Church. Betty was an avid reader and enjoyed sewing, crocheting, counted cross, bowling, volunteering at her church, serving as an elder and in the Altar Guild, and most of all, baby-sitting and doting on her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Emil and Helene (Gross) Schweikert, her step-mother Elizabeth (Luckl) Schweikert, and her beloved husband Jack who passed away on their 64th anniversary in 2014, and her dearly loved granddaughter Casey Jean Weaver (Castner).
Betty is survived by children Mark (Lyndi) of Franklin Idaho; Marsha (Roger) Castner of Jackson Township; Martin of Copley; and Michael (Andrea) of Akron and many loved grandchildren and great grandchildren. Betty also leaves sisters, Kathleen Koehler, Ruth (Tom) West, Carolyn (Jim) Lewis, brothers John (Alice) Kirschner and Bob (Lora) Schweikert.
There will be a Celebration of Life service at Fairlawn Lutheran Church and School (next to Summit Mall) on Saturday December 20th, 2025 at 11:30 a.m.; visitation begins at 10:30. Commitment will be at the Ohio Western Reserve Cemetery in Rittman, OH at a later date.
