Doris Louise Edwards (née Zimmerman), 96, went home to the Lord on March 5, 2026.
Doris was born in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, on December 30, 1929, where she lived most of her life. Doris loved to garage sale with her daughters and daughters-in-law, go out to dinner and attend musicals. She loved a good margarita. Doris would go anywhere that someone else would drive! Doris’s Christian values showed through as she loved and accepted everyone as family. All were welcome at the dinner table and the house was a neighborhood meeting place. She laughed and loved to play cards with her 6 brothers. There was never a dull moment around the Edwards’ home. Doris left a legacy of what family means - acceptance, commitment, love and faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Louise Zimmerman, her husband of 34 years Vance Edwards, her loving sons Vance (Chris), Henry (Hank) and Paul Edwards.
She is survived by four of her seven children, Jack (Marilyn) Edwards, Janice (Sam) Triola, Patricia (James) Canterbury and Joseph (Eva) Edwards, daughter-in-laws Rosalind Edwards and Virginia Edwards, sister- in-law Rhae Zimmerman, grandchildren Katie, Kristen, Kurt, Jennifer, Anna, Ben, Sara, Joe, Laura, Stephen, Paul, Jason, Chelsea, Meredith, Jimmy, Michael, Emma, Jane, and Sage, along with many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, March 10, 2026 from 5 to 7 pm at Ciriello & Carr Funeral Home, 810 Portage Trail, Cuyahoga Falls. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday March 11, beginning 11am at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 1905 Portage Trail. Internment will follow at Northlawn Cemetery.
