Donato Vito Turchiano

Donato Vito Turchiano, age 93, passed away at Akron City Hospital on Monday, February 3, 2020. Danny was born in New York on October 19, 1926 to Pasquale and Rosaria Turchiano. He moved from New York, to New Jersey, to Ohio; following his job with Goodyear Tire and Rubber, where he worked for 30 years. Danny served in the Navy during World War II.

Danny was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Dorothy; his brothers, Nick and Carlo. He is survived by brothers, Michael (Annette), Tommy, and Vincent; sister-in-law, Vera Coy; children, Patrick (Denise) Turchiano, Joan Heegan; grandchildren, Justin and Katherine Heegan, and Joseph Turchiano.

Danny was devoted to his wife Dorothy. She spent the last ten years of her life at Heather Knoll Nursing Home, and Danny was with her every day. Danny loved spending time with his grandchildren, especially when he got to go down the slides and chased them through the playgrounds.

Danny has always been devoted to his faith and the churches he belonged to. At St. Eugene he was a lector, Eucharistic Minister, money counter and altar server. He has touched countless lives with his stories, jokes and food. He was a selfless man, always willing to lend a hand.

Danny's family will receive friends 4-8PM Sunday, February 9, at Ciriello and Carr Funeral Home, 810 Portage Tr in Cuyahoga Falls.

Mass of Christian Burial 11am Monday, February 10 at St. Eugene Catholic Church, 1821 Munroe Falls Ave, Cuyahoga Falls with the Rev. Peter Colletti celebrating. Family will also receive friends at the church at 10 am.

Interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
