Donald Richard Novak

Donald Richard Novak passed away January 31, 2023 at the age of 88.

Donald was born and raised in Canton, Ohio. He worked as a printer during his service in the United States Air Force in Newfoundland during the Korean War. After his military service, Donald attended Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, NY. There he met his future wife, Gail Grantier (d. 1983).

Donald became serious about his faith in Christ as a young married man. He spent many years in Protestant churches, and later went back to his Catholic roots, where he discovered a spiritual richness he had not before known.

Donald is preceded in death by his parents, John and Katherine; wife, Gail; and siblings, Amelia Augustine, Margaret Machuga, Mary Bauman, Helen Efanti, and John Novak, as well as son-in-law, Richard Perkins.

He is survived by his children, Dan (Susan) Novak, Valerie Perkins, and Keith (Susan Hong) Novak; five grandchildren, Hannah, Zakary, Mia, Nathan and Joshua; his sister, Norma Raus; many nieces and nephews; and special friend, Pat Harrer.

Funeral Mass will be held at St Hilary Church in Fairlawn, Ohio on Saturday February 18 at 11:00am. Calling hours will precede the service at 10:00am .
