Dolores Mae Alley (née Meador)

September 2nd, 1933 - January 30th, 2022

Dolores, 88, passed away at home surrounded by the love of her family. She was born in Akron in 1933 and graduated from Garfield High School in 1951, she went on to study at Kent State University. It was at KSU that she met her future husband and love of her life, Wayne Alley. Married for 50 years before his passing, they raised 3 children together Kathleen, Christine, and Gregory. Dolores was an exceptional cook, a legendary hostess, and the sparkling matriarch of our family. She was as kind as she was brilliant, with a keen interest in history and gardening, and a deep love of live music and dancing. 

Dolores was preceded in death by her husband Wayne Alley, parents Carl and Clara Meador, and daughter and son-in-law Kathy and Tom Hinson.

She will forever be missed by her surviving family: Daughter Chris Shane of Akron and son Greg (Kathy) Alley of Hartville. Grandchildren Rachel Werne (Ben) of Suffield, Robin Hinson of Cleveland, Megan Shane (David) of Akron, Harry Shane (Julia) of Akron, Sydney (Spencer) Taucher of Hartville, Morgan Alley (Eric) of Lakewood, and great grandson Wesley Taucher of Hartville. Brother Carl (Lucinda) Meador of Bath and his children, all residing in California. 

Calling hours will be Sunday February 6th from 2pm to 5pm at Ciriello & Carr Funeral Home in Fairlawn. Service is Monday February 7th at noon at Ciriello & Carr followed by burial at Western Reserve. 

A celebration of life will follow on Saturday February 12th from 2 to 6pm in West Akron,
