David Lawrence Gingras

David Lawrence Gingras, 61, passed away on August 23, 2022 after complications from a stroke.

On September, 21, 1960, the world welcomed David Gingras in Durham, NC where his Father was serving his residency. He was a life long resident of Akron and graduated from Firestone Highs school in 1979. Dave ran high hurdles and was a middle defender on the soccer team.

He worked at Normick Lumber company in Cochrane, Ontairo, Peninsula Lumber and for 25 plus years at Rubber Associates. 

Dave began a life long passion for the outdoors with hikes in the metropolitan parks as a young boy. He traveled throughout his life to local, state and national parks on the weekends and weeks long trips out West.  Dave regaled his family and friends with panoramoic videos of Mount Rushmore, Rocky Mountain National Park and Yellowstone. He was a life long fan of the Cleveland Indians and Browns. 

He is preceded in death by his father, Gerard Giles Gingras; and mother, Helen Agnes Gingras(Siebert).

He is survived by his sisters, Beverly Cecile Reaven (Rick), Barbara Ruth Gingras (Cindy), Elizabeth Gingras; and brother, Robert Allen(Terry); nieces, Emily (Xavier) Kirksey-Ivery, Erin Mahoney; and nephews, Tino Mahoney, Trevor Gingras(Carly) and Hunter Gingras.

David will be remembered for his life long devotion to his family and love of hiking in every spare moment. 

Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00PM on Sunday, August 28 and a service from 2:00-3:00PM at Ciriello and Carr Funeral Home, 39 South Miller Road Fairlawn, OH  330-836-3100.
