David Parmelee Evans

David Parmelee Evans, 80, passed away peacefully on November 9, 2021. He was born in Akron, Ohio, on September 13, 1941. He graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School and received a BS in Aeronautics from Kent State University. Dave had careers with The B. F. Goodrich Company and American Spring Wire Corporation.

In his younger years, Dave loved flying small airplanes. He had a lifelong passion for woodworking and crafted many exceptional pieces. Among his hobbies, Dave enjoyed golfing and traveling - especially his annual father/ son fishing trips and vacations to Loreto, Mexico. He was an avid sports fan and rooted for Notre Dame football, the Cleveland Indians, and Cleveland Browns.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Greta Evans; brothers-in-law, Jim Carter and Willie Zwisler; sister-in-law, Karen Ede; niece, Kim Carter; and beloved dog, Maddie.

Dave will be greatly missed by his wife, Ellen; his sister, Judy; his cherished children, Deborah (Don) and Paul; grandchildren, Brian (Heather), Emily (Greg), and Jessica; great-grandchildren, Anthony, John, Lily, Jordan, Justice, Brayden, and Harper; and great-great-grandchild, Gavin. Dave also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends he dearly loved.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, December 2, 2021, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Ciriello & Carr Funeral Homes, 39 S. Miller Road, Fairlawn, Ohio. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, December 3, 2021, at 11:00am at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 164 West Market Street, Akron, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Dave’s memory may be made to the Humane Society of Summit County or Project Learn of Summit County.

The family wishes to acknowledge and thank Dr. Debbie Plate and the Justin T. Rogers Hospice Center staff for their compassion, skill, support, and professionalism.

Masks are required at both the funeral home and church.
