David Edwin Dunbar

David Edwin Dunbar passed away peacefully on Friday, June 25, 2021 at the age of 62, with his devoted wife by his side.

A native of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, he is survived by his wife, Sue, of 34 years; and his three children, Joseph (Stephanie) of Maryland, Dayna of Cuyahoga Falls, and Nancy Lee of DC; as well as his three sisters, Teresa Kinsinger of Maryland, Annie Jergins of Colorado and Nancy Raines of Tennessee; and his beloved mother-in-law, Nancy Rockhold.

The greatest blessings of his life were his grandchildren Noah, Henry, Griffin and Brogan who brought him endless laughter, joy and pride.

David was blessed with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; having never met a stranger. He was especially close with his friend of many years, Patrick Morris.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Eileen Dunbar Duffy; his father, Edwin Dunbar; and sisters, Margaret Walsh, Susan Stripe and Barbara Dunbar Lewis.

David lived a full, God-centered and diverse life as a Veteran of the US Navy (1978-1983), an active member of IHM church for 30 years and an 8 year participant in the brotherhood of AA.

Ever devoted to his Irish heritage, David was the embodiment of an Irish Soul. He will forever be remembered for his great love, his always helping hand, quick wit and unapologetic love for life.

We have no doubt David is raising a bit of hell in Heaven, while watching over all those he left behind.

Calling hours 6-8p.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 1905 Portage Tr. in Cuyahoga Falls, where Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10a.m. Thursday, July 1st.

Interment at Oakwood Cemetery.
