David R Ahern

David R. Ahern, 83, passed away on October 14, 2025.

Dave was a graduate of St. Vincent High School where he played basketball and later graduated from The University of Akron in January of 1966 where he was a member of the Lone Star Fraternity. Dave was also a member of the Ohio National Guard where he proudly served for 6 years.

After retirement at Firestone Tire and Rubber Company, Dave enjoyed a fulfilling career with Allstate Insurance. He was a long time member of St. Eugene Catholic Church. Dave also enjoyed many sunny days playing golf and was a very passionate CYO sports coach, coaching both basketball and baseball.

Dave will be remembered as a quiet, unassuming, and gentle man. His gentle way and warm smile will be greatly missed by his loving wife Lucy of 60 years, son Patrick, grandson Rudy, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Dave is preceded in death by his parents David and Bernice Ahern.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday October 21st at 11:00 am at St. Eugene Catholic Church, 1821 Munroe Falls Ave. Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221, where friends may call one hour prior to the service.

Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
