Carol Ann (Jackson) Goetz, of Fairlawn, Ohio, passed away on December 14, 2022. With her family surrounding her, Carol slowly released her hold on life to join her deceased husband Paul Goetz in her new life with God. Born May 24, 1936, Carol left behind a legacy to be carried on by her eight children, Elaine (Mark) Warner, Tracie Goetz (John Petit), Lisa Lupo (Lucas DuJardin), Steven Goetz, Julie (Don) McMullen, Laurie (Don) Beisecker, Michael (Jennifer) Goetz and Amy (John) Lauer; 21 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren.
Carol gave freely of herself, most recently spending her time crocheting countless afghans for family, senior centers and women’s shelters. A cancer survivor of 40 years, Carol volunteered for many years at Akron Children’s Hospital and its annual Holiday Tree Festival, as well as at all her children’s schools: St. Hilary, St. Vincent-St. Mary, and Our Lady of the Elms. She and Paul were also active members of St. Hilary Parish, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister.
A highlight of her life was when her baking talents earned her a place in the 1976 Pillsbury Bake-Off finals. Carol was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, where she was an executive secretary at North American Aviation prior to her marriage. She is remembered with love by family and friends for her generosity, selflessness, strength of character and faith in God.
