Carl William "Bill" Klotz

Carl William “Bill” Klotz, age 87, passed away on June 8, 2022 at The Village of St. Edward.

He was a graduate of John Carroll University and Kent State University. Bill taught History at St. Mary and St. Vincent-St. Mary Schools for 39 years.

Bill is remembered for wearing orange on St. Patrick's Day, for his love of all things Notre Dame and for his archaeological digs at St.Vincent-St. Mary inspired by his travels to historical sites with his wife of 41 years, Elva Loretta, the love of his life.

Bill enjoyed gardening, growing beautiful Dahlias and photography, winning awards for his photos of Metro Parks.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Elva Loretta; parents, Carl and Mary Peters Klotz; and step-daughter, Jean Cronauer.

He is survived by sister, Barbara Kapper; brother, John (Judy); step-daughter, Lynne Ameling (Bill); Sigfried Cronauer; family step-son, Greg Higgins (Nancy); many nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial 11a.m. Monday at St. Hilary Catholic Church, 2750 W. Market St. Fairlawn, OH 44333. Private interment for the family.
