Arthur James Lambright

Arthur James (Jim) Lambright, 99, died peacefully surrounded by his family on February 6, 2026. He was born June 30, 1926, to Arthur and Florence Lambright in Tiffin, Ohio.

An alum of Calvert High School, Kings Point Merchant Marine Academy, and Purdue University, Jim served in the Merchant Marines in World War II and in the Navy in the Korean War. In 1951 he started his career as a mechanical engineer at Monsanto, and in 1952 he married his college sweetheart and love of his life, Dorothy (Dottie) Scheetz. They had four children together, and his 35 years doing research and development with Monsanto took him and his family to Dayton, St. Louis, and Akron.

He was an active member of St. Hilary Parish as a long-time usher and volunteer, and a devoted St. Vincent de Paul member. Jim was a gentle, humble man of deep faith. He enjoyed wood working, reading, attending Blossom concerts, solving crosswords and sudokus, and fixing absolutely anything.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, brother Bill Lambright, brother-in-law Mike Shenigo, and sister-in-law Sr. JoEllen Scheetz, O.S.F..

Jim is survived by his wife of almost 74 years, Dottie; his sons Jim, Joe (Lisa), Tom (Maria) Lambright, and daughter Patti (Howe) Hinkley; his grandchildren Joe, Julia, Mary Kate, Matt, Rachel, and Adam Lambright, and Charlie (Tracey) and Ellen Hinkley; and great grandchild Henry Hinkley. He’s also survived by his sister Rachel Shenigo, sister-in-law Jan Lambright, and many beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Calling hours will be from 3-5pm on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at Ciriello and Carr Funeral Home, 39 S. Miller Rd., Fairlawn, OH 44333.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Hilary Church, 2750 West Market St., Fairlawn, OH 44333 at 11am Monday, February 16, 2026, followed by lunch at St Hilary. Private Interment.
