Arlene J. Lee

August 18, 1936 – March 6, 2022

Born in Norton Ohio and moved as an early elementary student and became a Kenmore High School graduate in 1954.

She married her soul mate and best friend, Richard Z. Lee on June 30, 1962. They built a Japanese style home, loved to travel, and shared many of the same hobbies and interests. They also forged many life long friendships.

Arlene worked as a yellow page artist for the Ohio Bell Telephone Company until 1974. She free lanced as a commercial artist and gained a national reputation as a watercolor painter earning numerous awards. Her paintings are in private collections throughout the United States and Japan, including at the Akron General Medical Center, Medina Library, and the Akron Beacon Journal. She earned a membership to Whiskey Painters of America (WPA) and was a Signature Member, Charter Member and served as the first corresponding secretary to the Ohio Watercolor Society (OWS).

Arlene and Richard were residents of the Bath community since 1965. They became residents of Rockynol in 2012 where she will be remembered for her friendships, an avid reader, her sharp and meticulous mind, and daily jokes.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rich; her sister, Claudine, and brother, Melvin. She is survived by her brother-in-law, Donald D. Lee and nieces and nephews.

Cremation has taken place. Memorials may be made to the Ohio Watercolor Society P.O. Box 350301 Toledo, Ohio 43635 or to Rockynol Assisted Living 1150 W. Market St. Akron, Ohio 44313.
