Anthony "Tony" Aulino Obituary

In the early morning of August 10 2024, Tony Aulino passed peacefully into glory and the presence of His Savior, Jesus Christ, now experiencing no more pain, no more suffering.

Born on October 13, 1937 in Akron, OH to Joseph and Lucy Aulino, Tony attended Goodrich Grade School, graduated from Garfield High School and completed his BA and MBA at the University of Akron. He was a member of the Lone Star Fraternity. Tony began his long and successful career as a Financial Advisor at Merrill Lynch and retired in 2020 from Wells Fargo Advisors after 43+ years there. He proudly served as a Captain in the Army Reserves, was a member of St. Hilary Catholic Church and served on the Finance Committee there.

To know Tony was to love him. He was an amazing man who had a strong, but quiet faith in Christ, living that faith out in every way, every day. He was honest and loyal, exceptionally generous and kind, had a heart of gold, a killer smile, one who made friends easily, a mentor to many, ornery, fun to be around and one who made life better for all with whom he came into contact. He was a mover and a shaker and never sat still for long. He did everything in life in a big way and has left cherished memories of his love, his antics, his sayings and his presence with many, many people. He will truly be missed, but his legacy will live on.

His favorite hobbies were CARS, pheasant hunting, his collection of Browning rifles and did I mention CARS???  It’s truly hard to say how many cars he owned in his life, but his favorite was his Land Cruiser.

While his life was full and he loved many things about it, he loved nothing more than his family and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved first wife of 28 years, Peggy and her parents & siblings - Joe & Mary Frances Pope, Jimmy, Pat & Chuckie Pope and his in-laws and brother-in-law, Earl & Rose Carlson & Jimmy Carlson.  He is survived by his beloved wife of 25 years, Linda, their much loved dog, Max and the many people who make up their blended family.  They are: his beloved sister Jennie and her husband Frank Fittipaldi, his cherished children and step-children; Joe Aulino, Jean & Norm Christopher, Mike & Laurie Adolph, Mike & Paula Aulino; Todd & Kimi Tober, Tim & Melissa Tober, Tara & Alan Barcon; his precious grandchildren & and great-grandchildren, Mike and Nicole Adolph, Matt & Andrew Adolph, Alex Christopher, David, Lindsey & Kaylie Christopher, Maggie, Sam & Genevieve Legenza, Julia, Drew & Lucas Lyon, Emma Aulino & fiancé Carter Paintin, A.J. & Robert Aulino, Lily Kate Aulino, Will, Ellie & Charlotte Tober, Penny, Grace & Oliver Tober, Julian & Greer Barcon and his in-laws, Bruce & Sandi Shackelford and Lee & Clare Carlson, Bob & Patty Pope, Marlene Pope and Karen Pope. Also surviving are his brother and sister-in-law from other parents, Tom and Yvonne Jesser, countless nieces, nephews, cousins, his Friday night friends, business associates, his ABF group and so many other friends - too numerous to name, but not too many to be remembered.  He loved all of you.

A memorial mass will be held at 12 p.m. on Friday, August 16, 2024 at St. Hilary Catholic Church, 2750 W. Market Street, Akron, 44333 officiated by Fr. Steve Brunovsky.
