Anne S. Miller

Anne S. Miller peacefully passed away on Saturday, August 28,2021 at the “Golden” age of 90. 

“Anne” was actually born “Elizabeth Anne Schrup” in Dubuque, Iowa on March 4, 1931 to Anthony and Myrtle Schrup.  But sometime in her life she decided to go by Anne. We are not sure when, but she had Driver’s Licenses under Anne and Passport under both Anne and Elizabeth, a Social Security Card as Elizabeth and  her “Social Security” benefit were under Anne!   Try to explain that to the BMV, when we applied for her official State ID!

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Fred D Miller of 34 years.  They had a wonderful and always exciting marriage, considering they had (7) “Extremely Well Behaved” children all born about one year apart!  Mom always said that she got through tough times with lots of Prayers, lots of Masses and a lot of help from Jack! Whoever he was?

 Anne was a devout Catholic and her favorite saying was “Don’t ever Underestimate the Power of Prayer”!  Words she lived by her entire life: A true inspiration to others and always led by example.  She was the kindest person you would ever want to meet.

 She is survived by (7) children: Mary Anthony Miller, Theresa Keehner, Fred Miller, Liz Dawson, Bill Miller, Laura Hannah and Joe Miller; as well as (3) daughters-in-law, Annette Miller, Kat Miller, Elaine Miller (3) sons in-law, Jerry Keehner, Jim Dawson, Mike Hannah;(16) grandchildren and (6) great-grandchildren and a cute little dog named Tootsie!

 Her wake with calling hours will be Thursday, September 2 from 6 to 8 PM at Ciriello & Carr Funeral Home, 39 S. Miller Road, Fairlawn, Ohio.   The Funeral Mass will be on Friday, 1:30 PM at St. Bernard’s Church in downtown Akron. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
