Anne Marie Bickett, 75, passed away unexpectedly on January 14, 2025. Born in Akron, Ohio, Anne graduated from St. Mary’s High School and the University of Akron. Anne married the love of her life, William W. Bickett, II, on December 16, 1972. She was a fiercely protective mother of William W. Bickett, III, Michael (Rich) Bickett, Elizabeth (Michael) Asad, and Megan (Liam) Bickett. She enjoyed summers at Kelley’s Island with her many siblings. For countless years, Anne shaped the lives of thousands of students through her passion for English and dedication to teaching. Anne was an ardent supporter of LGBTQ+ youth within the Catholic community.
Anne is survived by her husband and children; her grandchildren, Connor and Katie Ann Bickett and Jack Asad; her siblings, Edward (Fran) Wise, Larry (Camille) Wise, Alyce (Thomas) Wagner, William (Donna) Wise, and Kenneth (Debra) Wise; and numerous nieces and nephews, among others. She was preceded in death by her parents Paul and Jane Wise; brother, Paul Wise; sister-in-law, Rita Wise; niece, Jennifer Merendino; and nephew, Geoff Wise.
Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, January 20, 2025 at 11 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul, 164 W. Market St., Akron, OH 44303.
In lieu of flowers, gifts can be made to the LGBT Community Center of Greater Cleveland or St. Vincent - St. Mary High School.
