Alexander James MacLean, Jr. passed away peacefully at home on November 19, 2024. He was born January 6, 1949, to the late Alexander and Ann (Vincello) MacLean in Waltham, Massachusetts. Alec graduated from Boston College High School in 1967 and Boston College in 1971. He worked for 30 years in the tire industry, eventually becoming CEO of Continental Tire North America. Alec had a lifelong love of golfing, especially his days on the fairways of Pinehurst. He spent much of his adult life traveling and made many returns to his beloved Boston.
He will be deeply missed by his wife of 53 years, Marjorie, his children Jamie, Meredith and Greg (Cheyenne). He also leaves behind his two grandsons, Madden and Kellen MacLean. In addition, Alec is survived by his siblings, Susan Peterson, Judy Malley (Michael) and Sandra Greene (Todd). He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Michael MacLean.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, November 23rd at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, 476 Mull Ave. Akron, OH beginning 11:00 am. Private interment is to follow.
