Augostino A. Micozzi

Augostino A. Micozzi, 76, passed away October 20, 2018 surrounded by family. Augie was born in York Run, PA and raised in Fairchance, PA. He moved to Akron after graduation from high school and attended Kent State University, then the Goodyear Apprenticeship Program. He retired from Goodyear after more than 30 years’ service.

He spent hours in his orchard and his garden, and he could fix anything. He loved nature and often sat to reflect among the fruit trees as he watched the wildlife. On occasion he was known to sing nonsensical songs about whatever struck him at the time. He was dedicated to his wife, Karen, and a loving father to his boys, raising them to men of good character no matter their pursuits in life.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Karen, and son, Tony; his brothers, Dulilio and Edio (Hugette); and sisters, Eda (Ringwalt), Amelia (Messina), and Loretta (Rootes). He is survived by sons, Augie (Jennifer), Nick (Kelly), and Matthew (Alejandra); brothers, Remo (Mary Lou), Tony, Robert, and Carlo (Mary Lou); and sisters, Mary (Sentelik) and Sylvia (Tom Ocepek), as well as many nieces, nephews, and 9 grandchildren.

Calling hours 4-7pm Friday at Ciriello and Carr Funeral Home, 39 S. Miller Rd in Fairlawn.
Mass of Christian Burial 10am Saturday, October 27 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church.
Private interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Haven of Rest Ministries, 175 E. Market St., Akron, OH, 44308.

Augie, Nick, and Matt sorry for your loss...Uncle Angie was quite a unique character and I have some fond memories of him from growing up!
That is a great picture of your folks and that grin is how I remember him!
