He was born in Martins Ferry and grew up in Dillonvale, New Lexington and Canal Fulton but has been a resident of Cuyahoga Falls for almost 50 years.

He was preceded in death by parents, John V. and Margaret Douglas and sister Dolores (Bob) Yanda; and is survived by his wife Nancy of over 50 years, sister Jayne (David) Henderson; daughters Meg (Chris) Swayer, Missy (Steve) Boggs and Mandy (Fred) Nix; grandchildren Katie and David (Ivy Brosch) Nix, Christen (Stephen Cunningham) Swayer and Haley and Will Boggs; and nephews Randy (Linda) Yanda, Kevin (Jeanne) Yanda, AJ Lopez, Ryan (Sarah) Henderson, Nick (Somer) Briers,  niece Erin Henderson and sister-in-law, Rita Briers.

Tom was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and grandfather. He retired in 2002 from Mactac and was a lifelong fan of the Cleveland Indians. He served his community by volunteering with Alcoholics Anonymous. His family was the light inside him and we will carry that on forever.

Dear Nancy and family,

I'm saddened to see your posting on Facebook of Tom's passing. I pray his leaving here was a celebration and farewell. I'm quite certain Jesus' first words when He received him into heaven were "Well done good and faithful servant."

I will continue to pray for all of you that the journey you now are on will be with Christ at your side to console and lift you up.

God bless.
