On Thursday, February 1, 2018 God welcomed home James Klein to join his beloved wife of 56 years, Beverly.

Born October 19, 1933, Jim was a lifelong resident of Akron. He graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1951, and earned his bachelors and masters degrees from the University of Akron, where he was a proud member of The Lone Star Fraternity. A pioneer in the Information Technology industry, he retired as an executive of Cap Gemini after a long and distinguished career.

He was active at St. Hilary Parish, where he was a dedicated member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society and an usher for many years.

Committed to a lifetime of learning and knowledge, he mentored many family and friends in math and business, and was a member of numerous professional organizations.

He'll be remembered for his love of family and his strong Catholic faith.

Jim had many passions throughout his life. He was an Eagle Scout, enjoyed sailing his Snipe sailboat with his family, and coaching and cheering on his children and grandchildren in sports and school activities.

He loved computers, taking evening drives in his cherry red convertible sports car and playing cards with family and friends. He was an avid Cleveland sports fan, and often spoke fondly about attending the 1964 NFL championship with his father-in-law, won by the Cleveland Browns!

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by brother, Bernie Klein.

He is survived by children, Jim Jr. (Laura), Steve (Stephanie), Anne (Rick) and Mary Beth (Shane); grandchildren, Jim III and Jennifer Klein, Marie and Steve Klein, and Maggie and Luke Riley; sisters-in-law, Nancy Bancheek and Brenda Klein; niece, Kim (Jeff Bobek) Klein; nephew, Mike (Monica) Klein, and numerous cousins.

His kind, gentle and giving spirit touched many, and will always be remembered.

Calling hours 4-8pm Tuesday at Ciriello & Carr Funeral Home, 39 S. Miller Rd, Fairlawn.
Mass of Christian Burial 9:30am Wednesday at St. Hilary Catholic Church, interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.

In lieu of other remembrances, donations should be made to the St. Hilary St. Vincent de Paul Society.
