Robert H. Schlabig of Fairlawn Ohio passed away peacefully on January 26th, 2019, surrounded by his loving family.

Bob was born in Akron, OH on July 2nd, 1933. Bob graduated from Kent State University, served our country in the United States Army, long time parishioner of St.Hilary Church, and a member of Firestone Country Club.

Bob founded Schlabig & Associates in 1962, a certified public accounting firm providing financial, tax, and accounting services to individuals and business owners. The well respected firm held offices on Wolf Ledges Parkway, Akron, OH and Route 59, Kent, OH. Until last year’s merger, Schlabig & Associates was one of the oldest locally owned and independent CPA firms in Northeast Ohio.

Bob was an avid golfer and passed the love of the game onto his children and grandchildren. The term good man and loving husband does not come close to defining Bob Schlabig.

He is lovingly survived by his wife Carol of 40 years, his children David (Nanci) Schlabig, Marty (Mary) Schlabig, Bob (Lisa) Schlabig, Christine (John) Albanese, Mathew (Kay) Schlabig, Todd (Karyn) Pumphrey, 12 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, sister, Pat (St.George) and brother Gary Schlabig. He is preceded in death by his brother Paul Schlabig, Son Jeff Pumphrey, and Grandson Dean Schlabig.

The family will receive friends Saturday, February 2nd, 2019, at St. Hilary church beginning at 9:00AM followed by mass at 10:00AM. Inurnment to follow at a later date: Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.

Bob was a true believer in Catholic education. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory, to St. Hilary School 645 Moorfield Rd, Fairlawn, OH 44333.
