Richard (Denny) Kearns, age 78, passed away Friday July 26, 2019.
He was born in Akron, Ohio and graduated from Annunciation Grade School, Archbishop Hoban High School, Borromeo and St. Mary's Seminary.
He formerly worked at Transcon Trucking, Norton Industries, and Beekman Industries.
He also partnered with his brother Pat, in the operation of a diet restaurant called The Thinnery, and most recently worked at the Akron Public Library.
Denny was a faithful member of Immaculate Conception Parish in Kenmore, where he sang in the choir. His participation in the choir was a very prominent part of his life, where he made many strong, loving relationships.
He will be remembered for a wry sense of humor with a philosophical bent, but most of all for his concern for his siblings, and lovingly taking on the roll of parenting upon the death of his father.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Eileen Kearns (nee Brady); his brother, Pat; and special uncle, Pank Brady.
He leaves to cherish his memory his sister, Carol (Bill) Hurrelmeyer; brother, Tom Kearns; many nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews, and special friend, Sylvia Parsons.
Family and friends may call 4-8pm Monday July, 29 at Ciriello and Carr Funeral Home, 39 S. Miller Rd, Fairlawn.
Mass of Christian Burial 10am Tuesday July 30th at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 2101 17th Street Akron,OH 44314.
Private interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Memorial may be made to Immaculate Conception Church.
