Renate Fobel

February 25, 1955 – October 3, 2019

Renate Fobel was born February 25, 1955 to parents Arnold and Haline Fobel. Her parents emigrated from Germany in 1951. She was their only child.

She graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School in 1973 where her mother worked in the cafeteria. Her father was a machinist in a small manufacturing firm making air compressors.

Renate was a lifelong resident of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. She attended Kent State University where she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. She worked briefly at Sokol Furniture in Akron.

After that, she tended to caring for her parents through their extended illnesses. Renate lived quietly in her home until 2017.

She was a resident of Hickory Ridge Skilled Nursing Facility. She died peacefully at Akron City Hospital after a lifelong struggle with health issues.

Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery next to her loving parents. She was 64 years old.
