Paul Farkas
1925-2019
Paul Farkas, 94, passed away peacefully at his home in Cuyahoga Falls on Saturday September 28, 2019 with his family by his side.
Born in Akaszto, Hungary, Paul came to the United States in 1956 among others
to have escaped from the Hungarian Revolution. Along with his future wife they made this incredible journey leaving family and friends behind to start a better life. They settled in Doylestown, PA where they lived for over 50 years before moving to Ohio to be with family.
Paul touched so many lives with his generosity, humor, sensitivity and frankness. Always willing to help others he was fiercely loyal and dedicated to his family and friends. One of his greatest gifts was story telling.
Paul is survived by his wife, Julia (Varga) of 62 years; son, Paul Farkas; daughter, Christine (Farkas) Jackovitz, son-in-law, Donald Jackovitz; grandson, Kevin Jackovitz and wife Maggie; granddaughter, Olivia (Jackovitz) Bitter and husband DJ; great-granddaughters, Zoey and Chloey Bitter (he called them his little pumpkins) and many relatives and friends in the U.S. and Hungary.
Mass of Christian Burial to celebration of Paul’s life will be held Saturday, October 5th at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 1905 Portage Trail, Cuyahoga Falls. Visitation will be 9-10 am with a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m.
Interment will be at Northampton Cemetery in Cuyahoga Falls.
The family will receive friends in the Fr. McIntyre Room at IHM Grade School at noon following the cemetery service.
