Judith (Judy) Ann Combs
Judith (Judy) Ann Combs, nee Winter, died suddenly at home on January 28, 2019.
She was born at home in Brimfield, Ohio on February 7, 1939 to the late Emogene (Jean) Guthrie Osborne and William F. Winter. She was raised in Akron, graduated from Buchtel High School and attended the University of Akron, where she met the love of her life, S. Lee Combs. They were married in 1959 and spent the following 59 years together.
Judy and Lee founded S.C. Manufacturing in 1978, working together to grow the company to one of the largest job machine shops in Summit County.
Judy was faithful, devoted and dedicated to her husband, her children and her grandchildren, who were her delight. She loved Luigi’s pizza, Chicago, leopard prints, curling up on the couch with her IPad and talking with family and friends on the phone. She loved true crime dramas, R & B music and Beau’s Restaurant. She had a wonderful sense of humor and wasn’t afraid to laugh at herself.
She will be endlessly missed.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Jean Osborne; father, William Winter; and her beloved grandparents, John and Marjorie Guthrie. She leaves behind husband, Lee Combs; children, Sheri (Jackie) Combs, Laurie Norval and Phil Combs; grandchildren, Brooke Norval, Ashley Combs and Brennan Norval,;sister, Linda (Bill) Herold; brother, Bill (Debbie) Winter; sister-in-law, Maureen (Ken) Paulin; niece, Lisa (Pat) Callahan; and nephew, Scott Herold, several cousins and lifelong friends Nancy Weber and Doris Ries.
Family and friends are welcome to a celebration of life party at The Hilton Hotel, 3180 W. Market St in Fairlawn on Saturday, February 2nd from 2 to 5 pm.
